Sir – While the new Bonn Square, with or without its new pile of books (Feature, April 2), may be an improvement on its immediate predecessor, I doubt that it will impress our German visitors next month, as our Continental neighbours really know a thing or two about designing public open spaces.
However, a word of advice to our city fathers: just don’t tell the visitors what it cost or they will fall about laughing.
