TEENAGE environmentalists invited their schoolfriends and families to find out about ways to help save the planet at a special green fair.

Oxford High School’s People and Planets group organised the school’s first Green Fair on Thursday.

Representatives from environmental groups joined a compost expert and fair trade stalls for the event at the school in Belbroughton Road, North Oxford.

Roberta Iley, 18, from Charlbury, said: “We aimed to raise awareness in our school about the environment and ethical issues.

“Lots of people came – the organic burger van proved quite a draw.

“The fair gave people the chance to act on their views — they could find out more information so they could actively do something about the environment.”

Miss Iley, joint committee chairman for People and Planets, said she hoped the fair would become an annual event at the school.
