A 22-year-old man suffered severe head injuries in an attack in a Witney bar.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault at Norton’s Wine Bar, in Langdale Court, at 9pm on Saturday.
The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, where he is being treated for serious head injuries.
Dc Grahame Lea said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young man enjoying a night out in a busy bar."
The attacker is aged between 20 and 25, about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in and of medium build.
He was wearing a grey long-sleeved jumper and blue jeans.
The victim is 5ft 10in and of medium build. He was wearing a black zip-top with a white shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
