A burglar stole jewellery from a pensioner’s home after smashing a window.
Police have today issued an appeal for witnesses after the break-in in Fulbrook, Burford, at 10pm on Monday.
A 77-year-old woman saw a figure walking away from her home then noticed a window had been smashed and jewellery was missing.
A wooden sewing box was also stolen and was later recovered nearby.
Det Sgt Craig Kirby, investigating the incident, said: “I appeal to anyone who was in this area of Burford on Monday evening and saw someone acting suspiciously, to contact police immediately.”
