A man wanted by police for a string of armed robberies remains at large this morning.

Detectives named Jon Shirley, 23, as the man they want to speak to about an armed robbery at BP garage in Cherwell Drive, in Marston, and 11 other linked raids around the Oxford area.

Supt Andy Murray, Oxford Commander, has warned members of the public not approach Shirley but urged them to dial 999 immediately if he is spotted.

Shirley is described as white, about 6ft tall, with distinctive and untidy dark hair and a pudding bowl style fringe, brown eyes, thick eyebrows, a local accent and a fairly slim build.
