As a Palestinian living in Oxford, I found it reassuring that hundreds turned up last Thursday night in Cornmarket in order to protest against the slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children in the Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Strip is the most densely populated place on Earth. Most of the population of Gaza are Palestinian refugees who were expelled from their homes in 1948 when Israel was created by the West.
They continued to suffer under Israeli occupation for many years, with most of them living under the poverty line in miserable conditions in crowded refugee camps.
Their plight is a scar on the face of humanity.
