About 1,400 people in Faringdon are currently in the dark following a power cut in the town.
Two thousand were without electricity following a fault with overhead network lines, at 4pm.
Southern Electric said 600 were reconnected after about 15 minutes.
The rest should have their power back by about 6pm.
Southern Electric spokesman Duncan MacDonald said: “We have been getting customers back on in stages.
“There will be a small amount who will be without supply until the fault is replaced. We expect this to be for the next hour-and-a-half.
“We have engineers working on the fault.”
Areas effected included Market Place, Coxwell Street, Town End Road, High Street, Landsdown Road, Barrington Avenue.
