Car parking charges at Oxford City Council-run car parks have increased by an average of 15 per cent.
Parking in Gloucester Green now costs £1.80 more for a stay of between one and two hours on a Saturday – up from £4.70 to £6.50, a rise of 38 per cent.
Parking for up to one hour has risen from £3 to £3.80, an increase of 27 per cent.
Fees have increased at all city centre car parks, including Westgate and Worcester Street. and prices have also gone up at Diamond Place and Ferry Pool in Summertown.
Prices will rise at St Clement’s and Union Street in East Oxford from Monday and at car parks in Headington on January 29.
Council leaders announced the increases due to budget pressures in November.
