Two men are being held in custody after an armed robbery on a bus in Oxford last night.
A man got onto a bus, in Northway, Barton, at around 9.43pm, and threatened the driver with a knife and demanded for him to hand over cash.
The driver gave him money and the robber fled.
Police later arrested two men, aged 27 and 53, nearby in a house in Brome Place, Barton.
Detectives are linking the robbery to five other raids in the Headington area in the past two weeks.
Det Insp Simon Morton, leading the investigation, said: “We would like to reassure the public that following the arrests we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the five other robberies that have taken place at premises in Headington.
“We will be continuing with high visibility patrols in Headington this weekend to provide reassurance to retailers and the public.”
The other raids being connected took place at Lloyds TSB Bank in London Road on January 5; BetFred bookmakers on December 29 and January 3 and at Threshers off-licence on December 29 and January 4.
