Martina Navratilova disappointed herself by winning just two meals for camp.

The former tennis star put herself forward to compete in ‘Wash and Cry’, which saw her rummaging through a hamper of dirty clothes – mixed in with foul-smelling jungle pulp which included fish guts – to find garments with stars on, which she then had to put on before tackling an assault course which saw her wrung through a mangle-style contraption.

Although getting off to a good start, Martina ran out of time after bagging just two stars and told ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ hosts Ant and Dec that she was disappointed with the results.

When she returned to camp, the dejected star was consoled by her camp mates, though they all refused to hug her because of the stench of her clothes.

However, David Van Day later complained in the Bush Telegraph, saying: “I thought she would have done better than that, thought she was our jungle Jane. Two stars; should have sent me”

David Van Day is furious because Joe Swash and Simon Webbe has written a song.

The former Dollar star was angered when the actor and ex-Blue singer teamed up to pen a ditty, fearing it would threaten his chances of chart success with ‘Biff, Baff, Boff’, the track he wrote with fellow ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star Timmy Mallett.

As the pair sang, David moaned: “I don’t know what this song is and I don’t want to hear it. Don’t write any more songs. There’s only room for one song in this jungle and that’s ‘Biff, Baff, Boff’.

“Joe’s trying to get in on the act, he’s trying to write songs. Don’t get involved Joe, stick to acting.”

However, jubilant Simon was convinced the song – which had lyrics including “I live my life in the fast lane, baby do you want to come too? To me it doesn’t matter, because I’m dedicated to you” – has the potential to be a hit.

When Joe doubted his own songwriting skills, Simon replied: “Yes, you get it, it just fits, it’s the perfect jigsaw. You might have found your calling, mate. This song can relate to any man out there and any woman would want to hear the man in their life singing it. This is going to be big.”

Unlike ‘Biff, Baff, Boff’, Simon and Joe’s efforts proved a hit with their camp mates.

Martina Navratilova hummed along with the tune, and then told Simon: “That’s a great line – ‘Take me away on a ride on your heart’ - there’s a great line in a movie which is ‘You put a string of lights around my heart and you lit them up.’”

Joe Swash’s mum has confirmed his relationship with Kara Tointon.

It was reported last week the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant was dating his former ‘EastEnders’ co-star – who played his on-screen sister Dawn Swann – but the actress refused to confirm their five-month relationship.

However, as the contestants were given video messages from their loved ones, the actor’s mum Kiffy passed on a message of support from his new girlfriend.

Kiffy said: “Hello my lovely boy, I’m here and we’re watching. You’ve been funny and you’ve been true to yourself. You’re my baby and I’ve really missed you and I’m glad it’s only a couple of days so hang in there and we can’t wait to get you out and feed you up. I love you ginger ninja, you look great. Kara sends her all love, she misses you so much.”

The couple had kept their relationship so carefully hidden that even their close friends didn't know about it.

One pal said: “The first I knew he had a girlfriend was when his sister Shana said it on TV. But they have been friends for so long that it doesn’t surprise me they got together.”

Meanwhile, Joe revealed he is “in love” with fellow contestant George Takei.

He gushed: “You look at relationships in the jungle like Cerys and Marc Bannerman and Katie Price and Peter Andre and I always wondered if you really could fall in love that quick in the jungle, is it possible? And it is.

“I’m 100 per cent convinced because I love George. I’ve grown to love the man. Since I’ve been in the jungle, it does funny things to people, in my twisted mind, and I love George.”

George – who married partner Brad earlier this year - insisted the feeling was mutual.

He said: “From the moment I got here, Joe stood out, he’s so endearing and so alive, completely animated all the time. I love Joe
