Villagers enjoyed an evening of winter festivities in Kidlington.
Four children representing each of the village’s primary schools flicked the switch on the Christmas lights in High Street last night.
Families turned out in force to pick up bargains at charity stalls and listened to carol singers and a brass band. Santa also put in an appearance for the children.
Parish councillor Carole Pack said the annual festival in High Street was always well-attended.
She said: “I couldn’t tell how many came along, but there were a lot of people. “It’s always a good community event. The weather was good and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.”
