Prison inspectors have published a new report on conditions at the Campsfield House immigration removal centre.
Inspectors and researchers from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons spent four days at the centre, near Kidlington, in May.
A report on the unannounced inspection said conditions had improved in the wake of serious disturbances at the centre in 2007.
Those disturbances included two riots and a breakout of 26 detainees.
Another escape of seven detainees was not mentioned in the report as it happened one month after the inspectors’ visit.
