Sir – Your headline “Bonn Square is set to open again” (November 27) perpetuates a misunderstanding which the council has done nothing to correct.
Bonn Square was the name given in 1974 to a short stretch of New Road, and this piece of roadway has not been closed.
Premises which found themselves newly situated in Bonn Square included the Baptist Church, and what was always referred to as the Memorial Garden.
It is the site of the Memorial Garden which has been reopened, following the expensive destruction of the garden.
The result has more seating than before, but looks very grim in December. Presumably it will have its devotees, however.
