Thousands of metal brackets were sent spilling across a busy junction after a lorry shed its load of pallets.

About 10 pallets filled with the brackets fell from a curtain-sided lorry as it turned on to the Hinksey Hill interchange in Oxford at about 12.40pm today.

The lorry was driving from the Southern Bypass to the junction with the A34 when the incident occured.

Police closed off a section of the junction as the clear-up of brackets took about four hours, but all roads remained open.

No-one was injured in the incident.
