A man and a teenage boy remained in hospital tonight after a crash in which a passenger was killed.

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the collision on the A44 north of Woodstock at the B4027 Glympton junction.

A white Peugeot 306 and a silver Vauxhall Astra collided at about 10.55pm on Saturday.

A 21-year-old passenger in the Peugeot was pronounced dead the scene. He is expected to be formally identified later today and and inquest is due to be opened and adjourned tomorrow.

The Peugeot was travelling towards Woodstock while the Astra was driving in the opposite direction.

A 23-year-old man suffered back injuries and a 17-year-old boy had minor injuries. Both were in the Peugeot and remained at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, where their condition was described as stable.

A man and a woman, both aged 26 and from Worcester, were travelling in the Astra and were uninjured in the collision.

The road was closed for five hours while police launched an investigation.

Sgt Pete Jell, of Bicester Roads Policing, has issued an appeal for witnesses to contact police.
