I HAVE found the root cause of the current recession in an unlikely source! Oxford University.
Lord Patten is quoted recently in the TES that Oxford University cannot possibly reach its target on state/public school balance on student intake.
But professionalism is built upon the foundation of attaining targets: otherwise goalposts are forever moving (imagine that in sport or art, e.g mountain-climbing or dance).
Aims and objectives are about accuracy, not spin and the latter took us into this recession: there is no leadership value in being unable to meet targets and objectives, none at all.
