What’s wrong with the youth of today?
That’s what we all want to know isn’t it?
We have no time for them.
We offer them nowhere to go.
We deny any communal responsibility for them and we refuse to see any sign of bullying or abuse.
We too were young once and not all of us had happy lives, we are the product of our experiences, if we neglect and reject these young people what future do they have?
Damaged goods, that’s what you are, Broken by the world.
Shattered by their spiteful ways, Crushed by the lies you’re told.
Poisoned by their venom, Cut deep by your mistakes, Crippled by the way you hide All of the pain life makes.
I look at you the Damaged one And fear this thing I see, Upon your face the scars of life Within you I see me.
Damaged goods, that’s all I am Broken by the world, Shattered by their spiteful ways, Crushed by the lies they’ve told.
Poisoned by their venom, Cut deep by my mistakes, Crippled by the way I hide All of the pain life makes.
I see myself the Damaged one And terror comes to me, For I am such an awful thing How could one soul love me?
