Five more people have been arrested during Thames Valley Police’s clampdown on hare coursing.

As part of Operation Migrate, an operation running in Wantage, Faringdon and Hungerford, police arrested the men in Buscot on Saturday on suspicion of hare coursing, bringing the total number of arrests in the operation to 25.

Their vehicle was also seized.

Pc Steve Lynch, based at Wantage police station, said: “We will continue to take a robust approach and work hard to catch people who carry out hare coursing.

“They cause criminal damage to crops, fences and buildings and, in addition, those responsible are very often in breach of various traffic laws.

“Operation Migrate will continue to run over the next few months and I urge anyone who sees any suspicious activity in the area, or has information to help us with our investigation, to contact us.”
