Primary school children iin Oxford held hands to mark the start of National Anti-Bullying Week.
The 272 pupils from Windale Primary School joined each other in the symbolic gesture on Monday.
The Greater Leys school, in Windale Avenue, has also run classes to boost pupils’ self esteem and run ‘Sunshine’ sessions, where older children befriend younger pupils.
Sally Arthur, a Year Five and Six teacher, said: “The hand-holding is a symbolic thing to show unity and togetherness.
“We teach the children how to value themselves and respect themselves, and how to respect others and appreciate differences through learning about different religions, languages and cultures. If they learn about them more they learn to respect each other more.”
