'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' contestants have been split into two groups.

Presenters Ant and Dec delivered the first shock to the celebrities when the pair revealed they would be divided depending on whether they arrived at the Gold Coast's luxury Palazzo Versace - where they stayed before entering the jungle - in a limousine or boat.

The first group comprises former London mayor candidate Brian Paddick, TV presenter Dani Behr, ex-'EastEnders' actor Joe Swash, 'Star Trek' star George Takei and tennis ace Martina Navratilova.

In the second team are TV host Esther Rantzen, soccer star Joe Cole's fiancé Carly Zucker, former Blue singer Simon Webbe, glamour model Nicola McLean and talk show presenter Robert Kilroy-Silk.

The groups were also ordered to choose one member each to go head to head for the Trauma Tank task.

After much deliberation, Joe was picked as the first group's challenger while Simon was elected from the second team.

Dani told Joe: "You're an East End boy. Go for it!"

Joe and Simon battled with scorpions, rats and eels in the Trauma Tank challenge.

The 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' contestants - who were nominated by their teams for the gruelling task - were forced to reach into infested tanks to pull out stars in order to determine which group will be given food and a comfortable camp.

The winner - which will be revealed tonight on ITV1 at 9pm - is the celebrity with the most stars collected.

Former Blue singer Simon said of the creepy challenge: "Robert piled on the pressure saying, 'Are you sure? Because if you don't win were not going to eat which is a massive thing for us.'

"But it's the first trial so you want to start as you mean to go on."

Joe added: "I'm regretting my decision big time. I thought I'd sit back and let everybody do the hard work for the first week.

"And as soon at they ask if I want to do a challenge I stick my hand up like an idiot. I'm thinking I should have kept my mouth shut."

Dani, Martina, Brian and George jumped out of a plane.

The daring 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' contestants stepped up to the terrifying challenge - but some were more up for it than others.

'Star Trek' actor George said: 'It looks like a piece of cake.'

The 71-year-old star launched himself into the atmosphere for the tandem jump and later commended his instructor.

He added: "What an experience. You guys have this down to an art.

"Fantastic, what a glorious feeling."

However, ex-Deputy Assistant Commissioner for London Metropolitan Police Brian was visibly petrified.

Brave tennis ace Martina - who claims her jump felt like an "out of body experience" - said: "Brian was nervous because it was the one thing he didn't want to do."

Meanwhile, TV presenter Dani insisted her instructor knew exactly what he was doing before they left the plane.

She said: "Right, you've got the parachute? You know where the string is?!"

All contestants successfully completed their challenge.

Robert, Esther, Carly and Nicola were forced to cross a treacherous lake.

The 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' contestants were given two pairs of floating mechanical feet - one manual and one motorised - and a boat with no paddle to cross the vast water.

Nicola said before the task: "This looks like hard work to me. I don't want to do that, I don't exercise and I can't promise I won't fall in."

Beauties Nicola and Carly decided they would operate the manual feet together while Robert pulled TV presenter Esther along in the boat - but all did not go according to plan.

Robert - who is bookies' favourite to be the first contestant voted off the reality show - lost his balance and fell into the water, forcing Esther to power herself along with the talk show host's hat while he swam to the shore.

The two girls made it safely to the other side.
