Thieves used a digger to rip a cashpoint from the wall at a village filling station last night.
Police have sealed off the BP garage in Stadhampton on the A329 to carry out an investigation.
The A329 has been reopened after being closed for several hours.
It is not yet known how much money the cashpoint contained at the time of the raid and it is understood that no one was hurt in the incident.
