Killer Christopher Philp was today condemned as a coward as he started a life sentence that will see him spend at least 14 years behind bars.
Police have released this picture of Philp, 26, as Det Supt Rob Mason said his murder of Stephen Pinker in the Corner House pub in Hollow Way, Cowley, Oxford, in March was horrific.
Philp, of Leiden Road in Wood Farm, stabbed Mr Pinker in the throat.
Mr Mason said: “This was a horrific and cowardly attack on a victim who was enjoying a quiet drink with friends and did nothing to provoke the attack.
“The prosecution maintained that Philp actually left the pub to go and get a knife, which we believe provides further evidence of the cowardice shown by this individual.”
