Over-50s living on an Oxford estate highlighted their craft skills at a Christmas Fair.

More than 100 people went through the doors of the Clockhouse Community Centre in Long Ground, Greater Leys, on Saturday.

The centre caters specifically for people over 50 living in either Blackbird Leys or Greater Leys.

Community worker Sally Meachim, who organised the day, said it had been fantastic to see all the talents people had to offer in the Leys.

People turned out to sell hand made items, including Christmas cards and artificial flower arrangements.

Mrs Meachim said: “I’m really amazed at how beautiful some of the things have been and how much time and effort has gone into making them.

“The idea was suggested by local residents and it’s been nice to respond to what the local people want.”

There were about 15 stalls at the event and each one was run by a resident from the Leys.
