A popular pub by the river is hosting a trial by fire.
The Ferryman Inn at Bablockhythe, west Oxfordshire, will be welcoming teams of brave charity fundraisers ready to walk across glowing embers.
The firewalk on December 4 is being organised by CLIC Sargent, which helps children and young people with cancer.
Volunteers will walk over 20 feet of embers in the pub garden next to the river Thames, with experts on hand to show them how to do it.
The charity has called in BLAZE, a firewalking company which helps people overcome their fear of fire and raise money at the same time.
Jennifer Webb, from CLIC Sargent, said: “We are looking for anyone with a sense of adventure to take on this mind over matter challenge.”
Registration is £10 and firewalkers, who must be 18 years and over, are asked to raise a minimum of £125. Places can be booked by contacting Ms Webb on 0208 752 2834 or email jennifer.wbb@clicsargent.org.uk.
