A teenage drug dealer, who was caught with heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis, was today jailed.

Police caught Myron Stapleton with 19 wraps of cannabis, 27 wraps of heroin and 11 packages of crack cocaine in February.

Cathy Olliver, prosecuting at Oxford Crown Court, said officers also found £215 in the 18-year-old's room.

Door-to-door salesman Stapleton, who gave a "care of" address of Swinburne Road, East Oxford, admitted two charges of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and one of possessing a class C drug with intent to supply.

The court heard that Stapleton claimed he was handed a bag containing the drugs by someone else and did not realise what they were.

But during a previous hearing the judge decided Stapleton had known what he was doing.

Matthew Corrie, defending, said: "Mr Stapleton has expressed remorse.

"He was 17 when this offence was committed.

"He is not someone to take prison lightly. This will have a grave effect on his life."

Jailing Stapleton for two-and-a-half years, Mr Recorder Guy said: "As you know these are serious offences.

"You foolishly thought you could have avoided having to go to work and make a career for yourself by making easy money dealing in drugs."

He also ruled Stapleton had benefited by £877 from his criminal activities and ordered him to pay £215 under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
