A police officer who completed a half-marathon dressed in hit riot gear smashed his fundraising target at the weekend.
Pc Martin Waite, of the public order unit at Upper Heyford, wore kit including a helmet and shield — adding two extra stones — during the Great North Run in Newcastle on Sunday.
The 47-year-old grandfather finished in two hours 20 minutes and raised £1,650 for Children with Leukaemia.
