A drug dealer who earned almost £1m running a massive cannabis factory has had the amount he was ordered to pay to the state under the Proceeds of Crime Act reduced to £102,503.
Oxford Crown Court today heard David Stannard benefited to the tune of £826,541 by running a sophisticated hydroponics factory in Frilford, near Abingdon.
The 38-year-old was jailed for eight years in December 2006 after admitting cultivating cannabis and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
At the time, Reading Crown Court heard the factory had been running for at least two years before police raided it in January 2005. Stannard, of Tilehurst, Reading, had been ordered to pay £164,985 after a hearing in May last year.
But Judge Julian Hall, at Oxford Crown Court, reduced that amount by £62,482 to £102,503.
The court heard the majority of the money had already been repaid, with £8,050 still outstanding.
