Charlton Athletic have just made a DRAMATIC announcement.

My present season ticket at the Valley, in an excellent Upper West stand seat looking along the "home end" penalty line, costs £325. (I am over 60).

Next season the cost will be only £300, if I buy my ticket before the end of April. If we are relegated down to the Championship, the offer is as follows:

ALL THOSE WHO BOUGHT NEXT SEASON'S SEASON TICKET BEFORE MAY 1st WILL SEE ALL THE FOLLOWING SEASON's PREMIERSHIP GAMES FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! This, of course, assumes that Charlton will be promoted immediately. We have done this before, last time we went down from the Premiership.

I think it's a brilliant marketing ploy, because the club will be given not only an assured good income next season from high ticket sales, but also a constant high level of support.

None of this means that the aim for this season has changed at all: "WE ARE STAYING UP".
