I have been hitting the bike pretty hard in recent weeks.

It's been bad so I have been employing corporal punishment. Sorry bad joke.

What I mean is that I have been riding hard and giving myself a good workout (if anyone says oo-er then fair enough).

I have also been tentatively running a bit and am generally feeling more confident about the whole thing. I still struggle to fit in swimming but there you go.

But then I got completely carried away and, after entering the wonderful Blenheim Triathlon, then entered the Olympic distance of the London Traithlon!!!

So that's a 1,500m swim (manageable), 40km bike ride (that's going to hurt) and then a 10km run (same as I do every year at Town and Gown).

I can manage all three individually but the prospect of running them together is daunting.

Still, the London Tri looks amazing and I will get the opportunity to cycle past St Pauls Cathedral and other amazing London sights so that will be cool.

I just hope my training motivation remains strong!
