Well I did seek help.
Not from my GP as he is virtually useless but from a sports physio attached to Fit2Run near Abingdon.
I only went in for a pair of trainers to see if a change would literally be as good as a rest.
But once I mentioned to Dave Parsons, shop owner and seriously committed runner, my problem he asked this physio to pop down and have a look.
A free consultation!!!!
He poked, prodded, ummed and ahhed and then said - 'you ever had any back problems? Particularly higher up the back?'
Well reader I married him. Sorry when a bit Bronte there.
But 'yes' I cried a little too enthusiastically. 'I have a bulging disc which has been plaguing me for more than a decade.'
I turns out, in this physio's opinion, my bulging disc is pressing on a nerve which is causing referred pain in my foot.
It's a relief because it means I am not going to hurt my feet if I carry on running.
But I will need the disc situation checked out.
