Missed club night this week. Oh dear me. Still I hear the backstage jobs have been dished out and rehearsals are in full swing. Bearing in mid the production doesn’t get staged until the end of November I hope my readers appreciate the time, effort and commitment put in by these intrepid people. Do you? Don’t lie.
I thought about directing a play once but a mate of mind said, “Are you having me on?” I said, “Well I'll give you an audition, but I'm not promising you
anything."
Anyway there will be little to report on the play for a while as the players get into their stride and the whole thing comes together. Still I will keep you up to date with the progress don’t fret.
Dedicated readers will remember four group members are in a pub quiz team called Dramarama. We did attempt to enter the BBC2 Eggheads quiz but failed again. We are not quite sure what you have to do to get on the programme. After one of the contestants on Friday’s programme thought a 4x4 vehicle in London was called a Chelsea carriage I’m not sure we are qualified to be on the epic.
Went to see Atonement last week. Great film, had to keep your wits about you with the leaping about with the editing but nevertheless well worth seeing.
Back to amateur dramatics. I have it in mind to attend more amateur productions as we are fortunate to have a multitude of talented groups in the county and they stage ‘something for everyone’ as they say. Stay tuned for detailed critiques of local productions in the near future.
Finally I bought some Armageddon cheese the other day and it said on the packet ‘Best before End’….funny that.
