Other than playing a couple of gigs, things have been a little quiet for Foxes! recently. It's going to be a huge summer though, so do not fear things will soon be hotting up. We’re getting plug happy promoting our gig at *ahem* The Cellar on 19th April with Stornoway and Onions For Eyes. Did I get away with that?

In general though, we’ve been occupied with other pursuits over the last couple of weeks. Kayla and Daniel are busy rabbits preparing for the end of their degree courses.

Daniel is studying music but appears to have acquired absolutely no useful information about how to record, work sound desks or any other practical knowledge that might come in handy. He did make a hilarious bank advert video for his coursework in first year though.

It was our first attempt at recording 6 O’Clock and it went pretty badly as we were amateuring our way around the Brookes mixing desk. We speeded the song up and it sounded great. If there are any big advertising executives reading – this could be the next Spaceman. Speed up 6 O’Clock and you’ll be laughing. Especially if you also have my voice slowed down speaking over the top and Daniel’s unconvincing attempts at acting surprised when a girl ignores him.

We have a lot of alternative career paths lined up you see. Now we know Daniel wants to make comedy adverts. Kayla is into making very modern art – she’s currently working on a radio broadcast covering events down at an imaginary Mundane Appreciation Fair where people are celebrating the joys of daily tasks such as ironing and queuing. She’s also been spotted rolling down Cornmarket Street as an alternative to walking, carrying around big bunches of black balloons and blindfolding people outside the Sheldonian Theatre.

So there we go, us genius musicians are also multitalented. I’ve got a long and exciting career as a bookseller lined up. Watch this space.

Before I go I must make a quick note on the new slim-lined “Cool Machine”. It is still functioning on 50% of a plank with the help of some duct tape and tissue. So at the Cellar there’s the added fun of watching to see if the bassy bits fall out all over the stage. There’s going to be a baby elephant with us too. You heard it here first.
