Hello everyone,

A quiet and uneventful week at the cinema this week but I do want you all to appreciate the effort that’s gone into our Christmas tree. Christmas decorations and celebrations are something largely handled here by George, whom many of you will know from his Front of House position. George spoke to me last week about getting his sister Natalie to go with him and pick up a suitable tree which they could then transport back here in her car. I came in to work on Monday to find a splendid 6ft tree in our foyer, fully potted and decorated. I thanked George for his and Natalie’s efforts only for George to tell me that in the end Natalie wasn’t available and as he thought it was getting a bit close to Christmas, he went and bought the tree on his own and then transported it back from somewhere on the Cowley Road by bus! No mean feat this, so a real pat on the back for George’s single minded dedication and definitely a word of thanks too for the bus driver who allowed this extra ‘passenger’ on board with nothing more than a wry smile. Incidentally Natalie has made a significant contribution of her own; she runs our Saturday Kid’s Club and the tree is decorated with rather delightful decorations she and the children made last week. There’s still room for more so I hope they will all be cutting and pasting again this week.

At the risk of sounding like Jennifer’s Diary the only other item worthy of note last week was the arrival of the charming local actress Emma Watson (Hermione – Harry Potter films), and her mother to see The Devil Wears Prada. I hope they enjoyed their afternoon’s relaxation watching such a fun film.

That’s all for now, be in touch again soon
Suzy
