I CAN'T believe that after tonight's match at Southport, there are only 11 games to go until the end of the season.
As the old cliche goes it's been a rollercoaster ride and it could end up with a trip to Wembley, 21 years after our last appearance in a national (are you watching Wycombe?) final.
Even if we can't catch the cockle-munchers, who to be fair have excelled themselves, we've got to keep up the winning run.
It would have been easy for Oxford to have felt sorry for themselves and throw in the towel, but to be fair to Jim Smith and the players, they have really knuckled down and produced some of the best football I have seen in ages.
Victories breed confidence and that was in abundance on Saturday, with a superb display against Stevenage.
It reminded me of the old days at the Manor in Smith's first tenure. Attacking football, played at a fast pace and with flair (see Atkins you can play attacking football rather than hoofing it forward and boring the pants off the supporters).
Smith might not have any hair (but we don't care!) he has not lost his knack of bringing in talent (Danny Rose, Mickey - NOT MIKE! – Corcoran, Eddie Anaclet , Rob Duffy, Carl Pettefer, Matt Day) and getting the best out of players –  Yemi Odubade has developed into a real talent, while Phil Gilchrist and Chris Hargreaves are back to their best. I did think Kris Grebis was a mistake though.
The U's seem to be enjoying their football – there is a real togetherness about the team and no one wants to lose their place.
It was interesting that Duffy played against Gravesend despite having the flu, because he feared Marvin Robinson would take his place.
Now it's on to Forest Green Rovers at the Kassam. A repeat of the thrashing we gave them at their place would be nice – that's got to be the best away trip of the season so far.
