It's been a strange week for sport on tv.

The big news is that the Oxford Mail sportsdesk are now equipped with their very own didgie box. Now I'm not saying that the former sports editor is stuck in the 80s (or even 70s (or even 60s)) but moving with the times does not come under his blueprint. I took it upon myself to purchase a 2007 piece of equipment to go with our 1840 tv, and it seems to have been a big hit.
We have all been glued to this little silver box for the past few days, if nothing else to keep up to date with the Bob Woolmer news. How dodgy is everything that's gonig on there then? On Sunday, when I was also on the late shift, I had just told this ex-sports boss bloke that Woolmer had been found unconscious, when news came through that he had died. Immediately suspisions were aroused, but with every day things get more and more weird...it has the makings of a great documentary one day, which I am sure will happen.

In between, the cricket itself has been kept alive by the mighty Ireland - what betting they finish with more points than England in the Super 8s, and hasnt it been refreshing this week to not have any football on the box?
Yes, I know Oxford played on Wednesday night, but it could hardly be called football..I bet teams in the Conference are wondering just how they are in second at the moment. But they are still in the mixer (as managers would say) and are surely going to make the play-offs and then who knows....Wembley....hmm, sounds good doesn't it...
