I'm blaming Central TV for the appalling weather we've been having.
Ever since they took the crass decision to axe the delightful Emma and Charlie, it's been nothing but rain, rain and more rain.
What has happened to our favourite weather girls?
Have they been banished to the Outer Hebrides?
Are we never to hear Emma's cheery 'bye-bye' again?
Will Charlie's dreadful dresses end up in a jumble sale?
I think we should be told – in fact I think we should start a campaign right now to get the girls back on the box and get rid of that chap who doesn't seem to own a tie.
This winter seems endless.
Even my chickens aren't impressed, especially after their run-in with the neighbour's mongrel the previous week (for the benefit of my blog readers – all two of you – she's progressing nicely, thank you, although she's not laid an egg since).
I suppose the weather's got to change sooner or later, and it will only take a couple of days' sunshine to get us thinking of a new cricket season again.
I can almost smell that freshly-mown grass . . .
