An Oxfordshire town council is set to spend almost £139,000 on a new fleet of outdoor service vehicles.

Bicester Town Council was asked to authorise the release of reserves to fund an electric flatbed vehicle, a transit tipper and two medium-sized utility vehicles.

The vehicles are intended to replace ageing council fleet vehicles, support increasing workloads and help the authority meet its goal of achieving net zero by 2030.

During October's full council meeting, councillors raised concerns about missing comparative quotes and lease information. Members questioned a lease estimate that did not specify annual mileage and asked why three comparable quotations had not been obtained.

The proposal was approved, with some councillors abstaining.
