An Oxfordshire teen is competing in the world go-kart finals in Italy.

Fourteen-year-old Finlay Hinds, from Minster Lovell, near Witney, earned his spot at the IAME World Finals after finishing second at the Shenington SuperPrix in August.

Now he is competing in the IAME X30 Junior class in Viterbo from October 19 to 24.

Emma Hinds, Finlay's mother, said: "He will be racing against just 58 young drivers from around the world, which is an incredible opportunity for him and something we are extremely proud of."

A student at Burford School, Finlay began karting at the age of seven and has since become Bambino Vice British Champion and a winner at both Whilton Mill and Shenington Kart Clubs.

Last year, he finished fourth in the National Kart Championships.

Now racing for Croc Promotions in the IAME X30 Junior class, Finlay continues to impress in higher levels of competition.
