Police have issued a warning amid a spike in car thefts and vehicle crimes in an Oxfordshire village.
Thames Valley Police are asking people in Berinsfield, near Wallingford, to 'remain vigilant' after the force received reports of several attempts at vehicle theft.
One vehicle, a red tipper truck, was stolen from Fane Drive or Cherwell Road in Berinsfield overnight on Monday, October 19, sometime between 5pm and 7am the next morning.
The truck was recovered by police in the following days, but officers issued a warning as they were told 'multiple other vehicles' were 'tried' by the thieves during the same period.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, individuals or vehicles that may be linked to these incidents.
"If you live in the area, please take a moment to review any CCTV, Ring doorbell or dashcam footage covering the times above.
"Any footage of suspicious behaviour, unknown persons checking vehicles, or unusual vehicle movements could assist our enquiries.
"If you have any relevant information or footage, please contact Thames Valley Police quoting reference number 4326054905.
"Thank you for your continued support in helping keep our communities safe."
Police from the Rural Crime Taskforce tackled another kind of vehicle crime in South Oxfordshire in recent nights, when they pulled over a Mercedes in Watlington and searched the car and occupants for drugs, finding cannabis.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was dealt with for having no insurance or road tax.
