Plans have been submitted for an already in-use 12-person house in multiple occupation (HMO) in Banbury.

A design and access statement by Architectural Visions, submitted to Cherwell District Councill, sets out a retrospective bid to retain a property in Dashwood Road as an HMO.

It also wishes to add a dropped kerb, giving vehicles safer access to the rear garden parking area.

The corner-plot, which spans basement to second floor, has already been operating as multi-bedroom shared accommodation, with the applicant stressing that no internal or external building works have been carried out to facilitate the use.

Documents say the building’s envelope and layout remain unchanged and that the scheme would not harm the character of the residential street scene.

As part of the plans, dedicated refuse and recycling storage and secure covered cycle parking would be provided on site, while the dropped kerb would formalise an existing parking arrangement and protect the pavement.
