SSEN has released an update after a 'huge explosion' in an Oxfordshire village.
The power company has revealed there was no fire in Cholsey yesterday (Thursday, July 9) after a loud noise was heard as far as neighbouring Wallingford.
Fire crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were called as a precaution but were not needed eventually.
The situation was first reported to SSEN at 8.21pm yesterday with an engineer on site at around 8.40pm and the issue solved by 10pm.

A spokesperson for SSEN said: “Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) responded promptly to a power cut affecting 1,830 customers in Cholsey, Oxfordshire at 8:20pm on Thursday night.
“As a precaution following reports from members of the public, the local Fire and Rescue service attended, along with SSEN's rapid response engineers.
“The emergency services confirmed there was no fire, while SSEN's engineers established there was no danger to the wider network and then safely and quickly worked to reconnect all customers by 9:58pm.”
As the event unfolded a spokesperson for the power company said they were on top of the situation.
They said: "We have had reports of damage to our network. When this happens, the power will automatically turn off to keep everyone safe.

"Our engineers know exactly where the problem is and are working hard to make the situation safe, repair the wire and get your power back on.
"These types of faults often require extensive work and specialist teams, such as tree cutters, which is why the restoration time seems so far away.
"If we can restore power sooner, we promise we will do so."
