Oxford Mail Camera Club members have been spending time in local gardens.

That was their latest weekly theme and some members chose to take photos of public gardens and green spaces at stately homes while others didn’t venture too far - they featured their own gardens instead.

It was, as always, difficult to pick a winner for photo of the week but in the end we selected a colourful shot taken by Julia Johnson-Fry of her own garden, showing stone statues, lots of different flowers, and a blue bench seat.

Julia sent in many different images of her garden and this one stood out.

Each week, camera club members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page.

A selection of photos are then featured in the Oxford Mail and The Oxford Times.

The next theme, from a list of themes chosen by club members, is night skies.
