A new EV charging hub has opened, offering the fastest public charging in the area.

The eight-bay facility is located at the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South, just off the A34 at Milton Gate.

It offers 300kW chargers capable of delivering significant range in just a few minutes.

Deepa Chandrasekaran, managing director at Source, said: "Our Abingdon hub brings the fastest public charging in the area to a fantastic location.

"Whether you‘re a business traveller staying at the hotel, a commuter on the A34 or a local resident, you can now charge at speeds that fit around your schedule."

Developed by Source, the hub is part of the company’s goal to deliver 300 ultra-rapid charging hubs across the UK and Ireland over the next five years.

The site is powered by renewable energy and uses infrastructure from SSE.

Technology from TotalEnergies is also incorporated to provide environmental benefits.

The chargers are faster than typical rapid chargers and offer easy access for drivers travelling in either direction on the A34.

While charging, users can visit nearby amenities such as the Oxen Bar & Grill, Miller & Carter, and Costa.

The hub also offers contactless payment and round-the-clock customer support.
