Tesco Clubcard members are being offered cut-price cinema trips this month in a new blockbuster deal that slashes ticket prices to just £5 - or £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers - for the biggest films hitting the big screen.
The supermarket giant has teamed up with Cineworld to launch the limited-time offer, running now until the end of the month, giving millions of members the chance to see new releases for less than the price of a takeaway.
From today, Clubcard users can swap as little as 50p in vouchers for a Cineworld reward code, which can then be used to book up to four discounted tickets online.
The deal applies to standard 2D screenings and covers some of the most anticipated films of the season, with families able to take advantage of the savings across any day of the week.
It comes on top of Tesco’s existing “Tesco Tuesdays” offer, which already gives Clubcard members £5 cinema tickets every Tuesday - meaning discounted trips to the movies are now available throughout the week during May.
After the promotional window ends, members will still be able to use Clubcard vouchers for discounted Cineworld tickets and continue to benefit from Tuesday deals.
Tesco says the move follows the success of a similar promotion last year.
Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director, said the company was bringing back the offer after strong demand.
She said: “We ran a similar deal last September and it was so successful that we decided it deserved a sequel.”
Wilson added that the partnership gives families the chance to enjoy the big screen at a fraction of the usual cost.
The offer can be accessed via the Tesco app or Clubcard website, with members exchanging vouchers for a Cineworld reward code before booking directly through Cineworld.

Shoppers can also unlock discounted popcorn and drink bundles as part of the cinema partnership, further reducing the cost of a family trip.
Tesco Clubcard, which has more than 24 million UK households signed up, offers over 100 rewards ranging from days out to dining discounts.
For film fans, however, this latest deal could be the most popular yet - especially as cinema prices continue to climb elsewhere.
