Police have been given extra powers in North Oxford as multiple arrests have been made.
Thames Valley Police has been granted a section 34 dispersal order, in effect from now until Tuesday, May 12 at 5.30pm.
The order means officers can tell people to leave the area and if they refuse or return within the order time, they can be arrested.
The force says this the order has been made following reports of anti-social behaviour linked with car thefts.
A police spokesman said: "The order has been put in place following ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour, linked to a series of thefts of motor vehicles in the area.
"Multiple arrests have already been made over the weekend in connection with this crime series.
"The dispersal order gives officers additional powers to require individuals to leave the area.
"Failure to comply with an officer’s direction may result in arrest and further police action."

The dispersal order applies to North Oxford, including Banbury Road, North from Victoria Road to Frideswide Road.
Then east, skirting the Oxford Hawks Hockey pitches, Wolvercote Cricket Pitch, and the Summertown Stars FC football pitches
The River Cherwell forms the eastern boundary back to Victoria Road.
The spokesman added: "We appreciate the community’s cooperation as we work to reduce anti-social behaviour and keep North Oxford safe."
