National Pet Day is an internationally recognised day to celebrate the furry friends in their lives, so to mark the occasion, we've found some of the best pet pictures from Oxfordshire over the years.

This year the international day of recognition fell on Saturday, April 11.

We've found images of adorable cats and dogs, as well as rabbits, donkeys, mice, snakes, tortoises and more.

Some pictures show pets being blessed a special church services, while one pet owner took his dog into work for a day at the office.

One pet owner in Oxford said she was 'blown away' by the way the community rallied to find her lost Chihuahua, who had run away after being spooked on a walk.
