Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is "mourning her old life" as her husband is urged to get back into F1, according to a national report.

The 53-year-old lives on the Oxfordshire border near Banbury with former Red Bull racing boss Christian Horner.

Mr Horner had been team principal at Red Bull since 2005, overseeing eight drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles.

But this all came to an end last year when his team let him go mid-season over performance relating to the team.

Prior to that, Mr Horner had also been locked at the centre of allegations of inappropriate behaviour, which he was later cleared of.

However, according to a new report in the Daily Mail, Geri is now missing the life of being an F1 WAG.

The newspaper reported that she is "mourning her old life" at what she saw as being the top WAG in the paddock and is struggling to adapt to life away from the sport.

A source told the publication: "They are both struggling without F1. Geri wants to be married to somebody who is in the limelight. She thought of herself as the First Lady of F1.

"She loved that world and likes to think she's centre stage of it. She's made it clear to Christian that she wants him back in F1 as quickly as possible.

"There's been a huge amount of stress and problems between them."

One neighbour of the couple who lives close to the stunning £9.5m country mansion said that as beautiful as life in the village is, "it can be dull".

"Geri said she missed the excitement of F1, and you can't blame her," the unnamed neighbour said

"She's been used to flying around the world on private jets and going to fancy events, so it's understandable that you'd miss that. I don't think it's been easy for either of them to readjust.

"They seem like a nice couple and very down to earth, but it's well known they've faced a lot of challenges."
