Oxfordshire man jailed for threats to harm children

An Oxfordshire offender in his 50s has been jailed after controlling and coercive behaviour against a woman which included threats to harm children.

Warren Brooker, of Pointer Place, Marcham, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, January 16.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.

According to the court record, Brooker "repeatedly or continuously engaged in behaviour which was controlling or coercive, namely monitoring phones, cutting off finances, threats to harm children, threats to kill self, taking money, following to another country and contacting others from her social media".

He was handed a 30-month prison sentence and a five-year restraining order.

A deprivation order of his mobile phone was also made until offending material has been removed.
