A Christmas market in Oxfordshire has been named among the best in the UK ahead of the festive season.

The list, created by Secret London, says: “There’s not long left to wait now. Soon, the whole of the UK transforms into a twinkly, glittery, magical festive paradise—and, if you’re anything like me, you’re counting down the days until the return of Britain’s Christmas markets.

“While some can take over a city centre for almost two months, others cram a Santa’s sleigh’s worth of mulled wine, Yorkshire pudding wraps, and stocking fillers into a couple of weeks, but we love them all the same. Every one of these Christmas markets from across the UK is worth a visit this season.”

Blenheim Palace features in the list and is ranked in 4th place.

Why Blenheim Palace’s Christmas market is among the UK’s best

Secret London said: “Most of the UK’s best Christmas markets can be found in the heart of cities and towns. But this dreamy offering at Churchill’s ancestral home offers a village of traditional wooden chalets with a drop-dead gorgeous stately home as its backdrop.

“Plus, Blenheim Palace also has its own charming Christmas lights trail, ice rink and observation wheel, and a ‘Wizard of Oz’-themed experience—follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City, where Dorothy awaits, through the Palace rooms.”

Blenheim Palace’s website explains what visitors can expect from its Christmas market: “Shoppers and foodies can escape the bustle of The High Street and stock-up on festive goodies at the celebrated Christmas Market.

“The seasonal village of wooden chalets, in the Great Court from Friday 14th November to Sunday 21st December offers everything from inspired Christmas gift ideas to tasty treats.

“Grab a perfectly festive bite to eat as hand-picked street food vendors bring an indulgent twist to the tempting treats on offer. Complete your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer, hot chocolate or toasted marshmallow and share it with someone special.”
