TV legend Angela Rippon is set to perform at an Oxford University cathedral later this year.

The broadcaster was a regular presenter on BBC One's Nine O'Clock News and was the first female journalist to be given a permanent role presenting the national news on the station.

It has been announced this week that the 81-year-old will perform at Christ Church Cathedral in December for Macmillan’s carol service, Follow the Stars.

Ms Rippon joins this year following on from Mr Evans, Jason Isaacs, Toby Jones, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Toheeb Jimoh, who all performed last year.
